Doctor of Medicine (English Program)
Doctor of Medicine (English Program) in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University.
The curriculum is designed to produce the medical graduates who process knowledge and virtue to provide healthcare service for people in all levels of community. The curriculum also engages students to develop their critical thinking and inter-personal skills as well as leadership quality. Students in this program will learn about the clinical research at the forefront of medical investigation and interdisciplinary health science research study, which will be responsive to social needs and academic horizon.

Requirements

General requirements

 

1. Can communicate in Thai

2. Have high responsibility, careful, honest, and able to express their opinions at every processes during admission, written examination, health check, and interview

3. be able to work in official backgrounds or governmental units after graduation and candidates must sign a contract with the government according to regulations of the government and the university

 

Specific requirements

 

1. Have Thai nationality, age not over 28 years (counted until 31 August 2020)

              2. Education

                   2.1 Complete study from Mattayom 6 or equivalent or currently studying in Mattayom 6 and will graduate in the current academic year with the programs approved by the Ministry of Education, and have cumulative score of at least 2.50 counted from Mattayom 4 to Mattayom 6 (5 semesters), or counted until graduation OR

                   2.2 Complete study from domestic/overseas international schools or currently studying and will graduate in the current academic year with education level comparison guideline by Thammasat University, 2562 B.E. (See attachment)

                    Score results of three subjects including 1) Biology 2) Chemistry and 3) Mathematics or Physics OR Combined Science Score must be presented.

                  *Original evidence must be presented on the date of health check and personality exam.

           ** GED (General Educational Development) score is not accepted. 

English requirements

 
  • IELTS (The International English Language Testing System), Academic or UKVI type, no less than 6.5 or
  • TOEFL Internet-based score of at least 79 or Computer-based score of at least 213 or Institutional Testing Program (ITP) score of at least 550 (accept only TOEFL ITP score tested at CICM) or
  • TU-GET Paper-based test score of at least 550 or Computer-based test score of at least 79
      ***The test score must be valid within 2 years counted from the test date until the date of interview. 

General knowledge score

 

Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT)

Only BMAT score from September/October 2018, or August/October 2019 is accepted.

*If applicants do not select and submit the BMAT score to Thammasat University, they are required to present an official score report from the test center where applicants take the test, a copy of score result from the website is not applicable.

 

**Successful candidates may be required to take preparatory courses before the opening of new semester (details will be announced later by Academic Services Division).


 

Preferred Characteristics

 

 

Specific characteristics for candidates to study requirements will based on 3 mains ideals: (1) cause no harm to patients, (2) cause no harm to candidates of Doctor of Medicine program, and (3) cause no obstruction to study, work, and profession operation. Therefore, candidates must meet the following characteristics:

      1. Have characteristic to be able to work in official background or other official units after completed their study. Candidates must signed one-sided binding contract or open contract with the government according to regulation and condition of the government and the university.

       2. Have good physical health, free from diseases, disease conditions, or disabilities which will cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation such as follows:

         2.1 Severe psychological disorders which might cause harm to self and/or others such as Psychotic Disorder, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorder type Antisocial Personality Disorders or Borderline Personality Disorders, and including other psychological disorders that will cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation.

             2.2 Contagious diseases that might cause harm to self, patients, or permanent disability that will cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation.

             2.3 Non-contagious diseases or conditions that might cause obstruction to study and harm to self, patients, and profession operation.

              2.4 Physical disability that might cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation.

         2.5 Abnormally in hearing on both side with average hearing frequency of 500-2,000 hertz, higher than 40 decibels, and Speech Discrimination Score less than 70 from sensorineural hearing loss, which will cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation.

         2.6 Abnormally in seeing picture and physician committees concluded that might cause obstruction in study, work, and profession operation with seeing level on good eye lower than 6/12 or 20/40 even after using magnified lens.

            2.7 Other diseases and disabilities but health check physician committees concluded that might cause obstruction to study, work, and profession operation.

***For health problems in Item2, admission committees will make decision and the conclusion from the admission committees will be final.

Admission process and criteria depend on the consideration of the selection committee of the Doctor of Medicine (English Program).

      4.1 The 1st Round: Portfolio

4.1.1 Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT)

     Only BMAT score from September/October 2018, or August/October 2019 is accepted.      

           If applicants do not select and submit the BMAT score to Thammasat University, they are required to present an official score report from the test center where applicants take the test, a copy score result from the website is not applicable.

 *Portfolio submission must be in the PDF file format and include all documents in only one file. The portfolio will be submitted to cicm.tu.admission@gmail.comfrom 1-16 December 2019.

(Portfolio is important for admission consideration. Hence, applicants are asked to submit the portfolio to Chulabhorn International College of Medicine before the end date of application)
